THE REVIEW
Mike Steptoe, a PTEN review panelist and shop owner in Fort Atkinson, Wis., liked the AutoEnginuity ScanTool, especially for its ability to be used with a laptop for ease of reading graphs and numbers on a laptop’s larger screen.
“Being able to use with a laptop and have graphs and alpha-numeric readings all on one screen at 15 inches versus six inches makes it easier to watch the screen and notice glitches,” Steptoe said. “It’s easy to get connected to a vehicle, and the updates from their website went very smoothly. It works really well.”
Steptoe thought the horsepower readouts would be essential to performance tuners for quick setup and checking of numbers.
Otherwise, he likes the idea of having a dedicated laptop with the tool for the benefit of storing “hundreds of cars’ info for future reference, particularly when a car is running fine to compare data when a similar vehicle is in for repair service.”
