Brand loyalty

I saw a Snap-on distributor truck go by while I was at lunch today, and it got me thinking. Do you buy tools and equipment by brand? By price? Does the distributor himself (or herself) influence your decision at all through sales pitch, word-of-mouth, or? Just curious. Let me know your thoughts.
